Osh African Art cordially invites you to its maiden
Exhibition by Adubi Mydaz themed "Once upon A
Nigerian Christmas"
"In this new series of paintings, Nigerian born
artist, Adubi Mydaz seeks to capture the essence
of a modern day Nigerian Christmas with all the
fanfare associated with it. In one breath it gives
the feeling of an adaptation which may have lost
its real meaning. In the other, it simply reveals
undertones of culture despite the religious origins
of the subject.
In his trademark style, Adubi draws his audience
into his world of fantasy, where stylized forms and
geometric shapes define the spatial tone of his
paintings. The subjects vary from contemporary
Nigerian adaptations of iconic nativity themes to
more indigenous representations of vibes that
define the contemporary character of an age old
event."
